Jennifer Collins, President & Managing Director

Unlocking your potential

People and companies are often defined by their past. Jennifer would argue that the most relevant definition of a person’s future is their vision of who they can become. The same is said for any company. This vision most truly reflects and unlocks potential and is the foundation of living a better life and running a better company, every day. As Hazell & Associates’ President/Managing Partner, Jennifer’s role is to push the company to reach its potential. To be creative, effective and deliver only the highest quality career and executive coaching. In essence, she helps ensure her clients and colleagues reach their potential by aligning their passion and purpose with the work that they do.

Her most important responsibility as Managing Partner is to provide leadership through strategy development, effective management of resources, and team development. Leadership requires frequent communication with the team to keep them informed of the firm’s vision and current events, keeping morale high and the team motivated. Jennifer provides training and certification to all the company’s career and leadership coaches, resulting in the consistent delivery of excellence.

As a Leadership/Career Coach, Jennifer’s role is to help her clients step out of the box, and realize their personal potential. Through one-on-one coaching and development, she exposes and uncovers everything they have to offer themselves and their current and future employers. Most importantly, she ensures the alignment between her clients’ career choices, personal strengths and values.

Jennifer has assisted hundreds of individuals by working in partnership to effectively manage their career, identify and develop leadership strengths, and to implement and achieve career and life goals. She successfully helps individuals develop career strategies and keep current with market trends and leading edge techniques and technology.

Jennifer’s clients reflect varying levels, in many sectors including banking, sales and marketing, retail, information technology, consulting, manufacturing, and the public sector. She has personally managed leadership programs for a number of private and public sector organizations, helping leaders achieve their goals through the strengths and engagement of their talented employees.

An executive coaching student of Royal Roads University, Jennifer continues to advance her communication and organizational leadership skills, becoming increasingly in tune with the complexities of organizations and the benefits of executive coaching. Jennifer holds a Business Management Certificate from the University of Toronto and is a graduate of Brock University where she majored in biochemical science and minored in mathematics.

Jennifer’s key areas of expertise include career development, leadership development, career transition coaching, personal marketing and networking, as well as helping organizations acquire the right talent through screening to hire assessment and coaching. She and one of her partners have recently co-created a unique leadership program for women, capitalizing on the success of book clubs, with a view to creating a strong learning community for women leaders to read and lead.

Health and fitness is a passion Jennifer ensures she includes in her life. Her cycling experience leads her to become involved with the Coast to Coast Against Cancer Foundation. Every summer, Jennifer participates in their Tour for Kids Ontario. Along with 450 other cyclists, she rides over 300km, to raise money for children with cancer and to support their families through difficult times. The Tour for Kids is a challenging cycling event, comprised of cyclists, cancer survivors, volunteers and numerous sponsors, committed to making a difference in the children's cancer survivorship community. Through cycling and raising funds, children and adolescents along with their families will have the opportunity to attend year 'round camp programmes, vital to promote their optimal physical, psychological and social recovery from cancer. Other volunteer/fundraising activities include Becel Heart & Stroke Ride for Heart, and the Canadian Diabetes Foundation “Fill-a-Truck” Clothes Line.
